 I have known Torben for many years.  When I heard that he was starting on his own, I immediately thought of a project for him to tackle. Our back deck, which incorporated a hot tub and followed our landscape, was showing signs of rot.  As the old deck was demolished it became clear that the rot was much more extensive than we had realized.  It became clear that the wisest thing to do would be to replace the hot tub as well and start fresh, finishing a new deck to fit a new tub.  The project had grown, but such is the nature of renovations. To Torben’s credit, he offered good advice on what to do and even searched for a replacement hot tub for us.  Torben worked tirelessly each day in a deluge of rain and mud.  I don’t even think he stopped for lunch breaks.  He always arrived when he said he would and cleaned up after each day.  The new cedar deck he constructed turned out wonderful.  He sculpted the deck ends around the landscaping –molding it around the rocks and trees.  The landscaping literally grows from the new deck, giving it a true “west coast’’ feel.  Because we were so pleased, we tried to think of other projects for him to do.  As a result, Torben added a window in my studio, it looks amazing and was completed quickly and well. The quality of the workmanship is as good as I have ever seen.  I would not hesitate to hire Runestone Construction for any job in the future---I know it would be done right!! I recall on one occasion, Melanie, my wife saying “I think we have just found our new contractor”.  Good for you Torben!

 Torben is amazing. He can create anything from a vision. He has a great attention to detail, he is very hardworking and he is so clean in his work. He has done multiple projects in my house from sinking our hot tub into the ground with a full deck, building an outdoor bbq kitchen to a tv wall inside my house. After moving house recently and using many trades to support us in renovations, Torben by far was the best and I will always use him.
